Shearwater Victoria Falls, a company that pioneered many of the popular adventure activities in Zimbabwe, from bungee jumping and helicopter flights to white water rafting and elephant back safaris, has exhibited at INDABA since its inception.
Founded in 1982, Shearwater is today a fully-fledged ground handling and destination management company operating in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana, and catering for domestic, regional and international tourists.
Trish Mambinge, General Manager of Shearwater Victoria Falls, says that INDABA is an important fixture on the company’s marketing calendar for a number of reasons.
“INDABA provides a good platform for buyer-supplier networking opportunities and the opportunity to meet new business partners and close deals, as well as to maintain existing relationships,” says Mambinge.
South African Tourism is committed to and invested in providing the optimal business platform for all exhibitors. It’s the business relevance of INDABA that keeps exhibitors like Shearwater coming back to INDABA year after year to meet with premier hosted buyers.
The opening ceremony and the recently introduced networking sessions are events that Mambinge will be certain not to miss in 2015.
For her, the challenge facing Southern African destinations is in providing value for money, which is becoming increasingly important to today’s traveller.
