Top speakers and industry leaders secured for the first ever INDABA BONDay session
In response to exhibitor feedback, INDABA this year will have a day dedicated exclusively to exhibitors. The Business Opportunity Networking Day (BONDay) will take place on Monday, 15 May, at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, ahead of INDABA’s public show days from 16 to 18 May.
Moderated by media entrepreneur and TV personality Jo-Ann Strauss, the morning sessions will feature three presentations and a panel discussion by industry experts in the tourism sector.
All exhibitors and media registered and accredited for INDABA, regarded as Africa’s leading travel trade show, are invited to attend this morning session.
Topics to be covered include how to market a tourism destination for global appeal. This discussion, led by South African Tourism Chief Marketing Officer Margie Whitehouse, who will be joined by Thabang Skwambane, Managing Director of FCB Africa. The two will look at the current global and continental tourism trends and challenges and how South African Tourism is responding from a strategic and destination branding and marketing perspective.
Tech entrepreneur Rapelang Rabana will address delegates on key trends in the technology environment and how businesses in the tourism sector should adapt in order to remain competitive. In addition, Nikki Harding from Facebook Africa will discuss the fascinating topic of social media developments and how they relate to travel and tourism.
Exhibitors, media and buyers are encouraged and invited to attend the BONDay session. Registration starts at 08h30, with the first segment scheduled to begin at 09h00.
Please note that the official opening of INDABA 2017 will now take place at 10h00 on Tuesday 16 May, instead of at 09h00 as previously scheduled.
