Why was Africa’s Travel Indaba postponed?
On 7th February, President Cyril Ramaphosa, announced in his state of the nation address that the national election will take place on 08 May 2019. This would have coincided with Indaba.
What is Africa’s Travel Indaba’s revised date?
Africa’s Travel Indaba’s has been brought forward and will now take place from 02-04 May 2019 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.
I am a non-hosted buyer and my company has made travel arrangements that cannot be changed. Would the company be reimbursed for flights and accommodation that I have already paid for?
South African Tourism will work with all trade partners to ensure that there is smooth transition into the new date as many would’ve had plans in place already.
I am an exhibitor at Africa’s Travel Indaba. Will my spot at the event still be secured on the revised date?
Yes, if you have registered already, your spot is secured.
Is Africa’s Travel Indaba still taking place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre?
Yes. The 2019 Africa’s Travel Indaba will take place from 02-04 May 2019 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.
Are registrations for hosted buyers, exhibitor and media still open despite the date change?
Yes and all further details around registration is available on
www.indaba-southafrica.co.za

During her opening speech at the Africa’s Travel Indaba (ATI) the Minister of Tourism Honourable Patricia de Lille has called for tourism businesses to register for the Sho’t Left Travel week which is now open for registrations. The campaign is an important part of ATI, offering South Africans a seven-day promotion of discounted travel related deals and packages. Commonly referred to as the GREAT SOUTH AFRICAN SALE, tourism businesses from around the country pledges to support tourism recovery and growth of the industry by packaging and offering their services and products at an affordable price to consumers.

Africa’s Travel Indaba 2022 was a boon for the continent’s tourism sector as well as the host city of Durban, province of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). This is as hundreds of buyers and exhibitors from 55 countries descended on Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) from 2-5 May, to trade on the continent’s best tourism products and experiences. Of the 55 countries, 19 were from the African continent, including South Africa.
